Websites for small businesses
Your customers are looking for you. They find your competitors.
Someone types your name and finds a pin on a map, a number from the year before last, and nothing else. Two lines further down sits a business that works worse than you do but has a site. That is where the call goes. It can be changed in a week, and you see the finished site before you decide anything.
A finished site, Vintage Bikes in Emmendingen

You are only as good as your listing.
Without a site of your own, someone else's listing decides how you come across. Opening hours nobody maintains, a photograph you never chose.
You cannot show anything.
Your work is the best reason to ring you. Without a site nobody sees it before they decide.
You are not in the running.
Someone comparing three firms takes the two they can look at. The third never makes the shortlist.
You see the finished site first.
A short call
One call, a few minutes. What you do, who for, and what belongs on the site. If you have photos, send me three of them. It also works without.
I build it
From what you tell me, your photographs, and what is publicly known about you. Where photographs are missing I generate images and tell you so explicitly.
You get a link
A real, working site you can open on your phone and show to anyone. No proposal document, no second meeting.
You decide
If it does not suit you, keep the link and we are done. You have paid nothing and promised nothing. If it does, it goes live on your own domain.

A site that Google can read.
Having a site is not enough. Google has to recognise that you are a business, where you are, what you offer and how to reach you. That does not sit in the appearance, it sits underneath it.
The text is really on the page, from the first millisecond.
Many site builders load their text afterwards. Not every search engine reads what arrives late. Here the text is in the document that is delivered.
Your business is filed as a business
Name, address, telephone number, opening hours and your profiles are stored in the format search engines expect. Google sees a shop with an address, not just another page.
Clean structure, not decoration
One main heading per page, a sensible outline beneath it, images with descriptions. That is the groundwork, without which nothing else helps.
Fast and built for the phone
The page is delivered finished, not assembled in the browser. It loads in under a second. Most of your visitors arrive on a phone, and that is the view Google judges.
No surcharge, no subscription
All of it is included from the start. There is no search engine fee and no monthly line for it.
What I do not promise: a particular position on Google. Nobody can promise that honestly, and anyone who does is selling you something else. I make sure nothing about your site stands in the way. Where you land depends on your town, your trade and your competition.
Shall I show you what that looks like for your business?
A site that did not exist a week ago.
A bicycle shop in Emmendingen. Anyone looking for it finds a pin on a map and a telephone number, nothing else. So I built what its site could look like.

Vintage Bikes, Emmendingen
Classic bicycles. Built from what was publicly findable about the shop, which was all there was. The motion in the header runs on the scroll wheel: scrolling assembles the bicycle.
Have a look →So that nothing here sounds better than it is: this is a proposal, not commissioned work. The shop had no site of its own, and this one does not yet run under its address. It would be the same for you. You see your finished site and decide afterwards. More work will follow as it is completed.
Legal notice, privacy, labelling. Set up and ready.
A business website needs a page saying who runs it and a privacy notice explaining what happens to visitors' data. Both come with the site, filled in and linked from every page.
Who runs this site
As a page of its own, linked from everywhere. I enter what you give me. What I do not know for certain, such as your company number, I leave visibly open so you can complete it. Invented details would be worse than a gap.
A privacy notice that fits the site
Not a template. It says what actually happens on your site, and that is very little: no advertising trackers, no visitor measurement, no cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to. Fonts are delivered with the site rather than fetched from Google.
Labelling of AI content
Where I generate images for your site because no photographs exist yet, it says so in the footer. If everything comes from you, nothing is said. Either way you are told beforehand what is generated and what is not.
I am not a solicitor and cannot give legal advice. I set the sites up the way that is customary and tested as things stand, and I tell you plainly where you need a professional. What exactly applies to your business depends on where you trade and how you are set up.
Two ways. You decide which one suits you.
You pay for the site once and then it is yours. Whether I keep looking after it is your decision, and you can decide differently any month.
- A complete build, home page and inner pages
- Text and images suited to your trade
- Built for the phone, loads in under a second
- Search engines set up, structured data included
- Your Google rating on the page
- Legal notice and privacy notice as their own pages
- A contact form, set up and handed over
- Published on your own domain
- Handed over in full, all of it yours
You see the finished site before you pay. If it is not for you, you pay nothing and we shake hands.
- Changes to text, images, prices and hours
- Usually done the same working day
- Domain and hosting run through me
- Security certificate and updates
- The contact form stays in service
- Legal and privacy pages kept current
No minimum term. You can end it at the end of any month, no reason needed, no notice period. The site stays yours: you get every file and can run it with any provider you like. What ends is my looking after it and the hosting on my server. The domain was yours all along.
- New photographs from a photographer
- Legal advice, for that you need a solicitor
- An online shop or a booking system
If your business needs something that is not covered here, say so. I will tell you honestly whether I am the right person for it.
The next step costs you five minutes on the phone.

One person, not an agency.
I am Simon. I build websites for small businesses, on my own, one after another. There is no account manager, no ticket system and no team you never meet. You speak to the person doing the work.
I build first. You look. Then you decide.
That means I do work which sometimes never gets paid for. It also means you never pay for something you have not seen.

Ring, look at the site, decide.
There is no sales pitch afterwards. We speak briefly, I build, you get a link. If it does not suit you, you have lost nothing.
